The extensive data pool of the BML / BAB forms an important basis for scientific studies and projects. The growing availability of geodata as well as the extended competences and technical possibilities lead to a growing number of spatial intersections and analyses. The resulting analysis results and geodata are processed and visualised in different ways. To date, however, publication has mainly taken place in the form of static images as part of publications on websites or in print products or PDF documents. Data strategies at EU and Austrian level are increasingly focussing on FAIR principles, with the aim of publishing research data and results in such a way that they are findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.
Web maps are a building block of this, as they can be used to communicate complex geographical data in a clear and appealing way, while at the same time allowing users to navigate flexibly.
Objective
To make it easier for users to find the department's individual applications, maps and open data and to optimise them for web search services.
Schedule
