Income results of farms voluntarily reporting for the Green Report vary significantly. In addition to structural characteristics such as farm size, farm type or location (e.g. natural handicaps), other factors such as entrepreneurial personality, management or strategic orientation have a significant influence on farm success. Based on analyses of accounting farms with above-average economic success over several years, qualitative interviews were used to identify further success factors (including strategic, operational and social factors) in addition to the structural success factors.
The study was carried out in co-operation with employees of the University College for Agricultural and Envionmental Education (HAUP), Agricultural Chamber of Upper Austria, LBG Austria, the Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics, Rural and Mountain Research and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management.
