BIOECO-UP: Elevator pitch and poster at the 2nd Agricultural and Forestry Sciences Conference 2024

The 2nd Agricultural and Forestry Science Conference took place in Vienna on 26.06.2024 and was dedicated to the topic “From the field to the future: Circular economy as a pioneer for innovation and sustainability”. The Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics and Mountain Farming presented the BIOECO-UP project at this conference by means of an elevator pitch and poster (in German, available for download below).

“BIOECO-UP - Circular bioeconomy market uptake and policy support in Central Europe” (CE0100254) is supported by the Interreg Central Europe 2021-2027 program with co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund.

Elevator pitch

The BIOECO-UP project aims to promote the circular bioeconomy in Central Europe. The reasons for this are resource scarcity, high resource consumption, lagging development of bioeconomy value chains in some Central European countries and the need for an exchange of experience between policy decision-makers.

BIOECO-UP addresses different levels and supports the development of bio-based value chains, the promotion of bio-based products consumption and the design of the policy framework.

Together with 11 other organisations from 7 Central European countries, the Federal Institute of Agricultural Economics, Rural and Mountain Research examined how bioeconomy measures can be implemented and financed within the Common Agricultural Policy.

To this end, a workshop was organised in which policy decision-makers discussed emerging questions, expectations, experiences and ideas. In addition, lists of selected measures were compiled that can serve as an information basis for the further development of the bioeconomy.

Project duration: April 2023 to March 2026.
