Women Farmers Study 2026 – Introductory Presentation and Workshop

Introductory Presentation and Workshop at the “Evaluation in Dialogue” Event at the Wissensturm in Linz

In the lead-up to the final steering committee meeting of the 2014–2020 Rural Development (LE) funding period, the “Evaluation in Dialogue” event was held on 25 June 2026 at the Wissensturm in Linz. Following opening remarks by representatives of the BMLUK and the European Commission, Margarethe Schima-Tripolt, responsible for implementing the ex-post evaluation of the LE 14–20 programme and the accompanying evaluation of the GSP 23–27, outlined the structure and current status of the evaluations. Interim findings from several evaluation studies were presented at the event, including the “Women Farmers Study 2026”. Martina Schorn presented results from an online survey of Austrian women farmers covering the topics of “respondents’ activities in implementing GSP 23–27 measures on their farms”, “preparation and process of farm succession”, and “the relevance of support and advisory services”. These findings were supplemented with insights drawn from introductory workshops and qualitative one-to-one interviews. The results were subsequently discussed in greater depth during a workshop with active participation. BAB staff are actively involved in coordinating and executing tasks across numerous evaluation topics and focal areas.
