From 9 to 11 June 2026, the third and final consortium meeting of the GreeNet project took place in Graubünden. The aim of GreeNet is to develop cost-effective strategies for the conservation of ecologically valuable grassland areas across six European case study regions. For the meeting, the ten project partners gathered at the Plantahof in Landquart to discuss project progress and plan the final steps towards project completion in March 2027.
Within the framework of several workshops dedicated to the individual work packages, developments since the last consortium meeting were discussed. Particular emphasis was placed on the further development of bio-economic farm models and policy planning models, as well as the integration of economic and ecological modelling approaches. Furthermore, the project partners aligned on the synthesis of results to date and outlined the next steps required for the successful completion of the project.
A highlight of the meeting was the field day on the theme “Biodiversity – Cleverly Combining Production and Diversity” held at the Plantahof. Participants gained insights into current approaches for promoting biodiversity in agriculture and, as part of an excursion, visited the species-rich flower meadows in the municipality of Feldis/Veulden to discuss the impacts of Swiss agri-environmental measures.
