The Global Agritourism Network (GAN) is a worldwide network of agritourism stakeholders. Its aim is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience on sustainable agritourism. With over 1,100 members from 115 countries (as of December 2025), the GAN has developed into a central platform for international dialogue and cooperation in recent years.
Objective
Active participation in the GAN allows us to help shape the international exchange of knowledge and experience and to contribute the Austrian perspective in a targeted manner. The scientific added value lies in the systematic analysis and technical classification of international practical and governance approaches in the global agritourism context. On this basis, evidence-based approaches can be further developed in Austria and at the same time reflected upon and shared internationally. Selected dissemination activities contribute to the international visibility of Austrian expertise.
