In October, the official launch of the EU HORIZON project GRACE took place in Venice. Representatives from all 25 European partner organizations gathered for the kick-off meeting to get to know each other, define shared goals, and lay the foundation for four years of collaboration.
BAB was represented on site by Heidi Grüneis, Daria Ernst, and Somaye Latifi. During the meeting, the three team members presented BAB’s work package and gained exciting insights into the Italian project region Cavallino-Treporti, one of the designated demonstrator regions within GRACE.
The GRACE project (EU HORIZON Mission Adaptation) aims to strengthen climate resilience through collective action. Together with partner organizations across Europe, GRACE develops nature-based solutions that will be implemented in demonstrator regions. In Austria, the “Bucklige Welt – Wechselland” region is part of the initiative — an area already deeply engaged in climate adaptation through the KLAR! program. Within GRACE, BAB leads a work package focused on the practical implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of adaptation measures.
With a successful start in Venice, the project has set a strong foundation for future collaboration. The next steps will involve refining the planned activities within the partner regions and preparing for the first implementations. We are excited to continue working alongside our European partners on innovative solutions for a climate-resilient future!
